Laia Gorfinkel is an Argentine singer-songwriter developing concept-led indie alt-pop with a defined creative structure. She writes lyrics, shapes vocal topline ideas intuitively, and sets the emotional and atmospheric brief for each track, translating narrative into sonic decisions and visual direction. Influenced by film, literature, fashion, and philosophy, her releases are built as cohesive, authored experiences.
Laia’s musical influences are rooted in contrast. Her ear was formed by the groove of ’70s funk, soul, pop, dance and disco, the precision of ’80s synth-pop and new wave, and the emotional force of grunge, nu-metal, and pop-punk. Over time, that palette expanded through indie rock, dream pop, contemporary pop and alt-pop, R&B, neo-soul, hip hop, spoken word, and electronic music influenced by trip hop, garage, and house. Today, those references inform a contemporary indie alt-pop language where rhythm, atmosphere, and emotional tension remain central.
Laia’s visual language is anchored in a Noir Retro-Glam style—less a project choice than a defining signature. Built on a constant interplay between retro cues and a contemporary finish, strength and fragility, her creative lens emerges from a collision of artistic codes.
As a songwriter, Laia rejects commercial simplicity in favor of raw truth. Her voice is informed by the confessional intensity of Sylvia Plath and Anne Sexton, navigating the fracture of identity with the existential weight of Kafka and Camus. She treats language as high definition imagery, channeling the symbolism of Rilke and Woolf to tell stories of disintegration and integration.
“Unveiled” was first released as a standalone track, produced at House of Hits (Miami). The full-length album, recorded later at Estudios Panda (Buenos Aires), carries the same title and consolidates Laia Gorfinkel’s conceptual direction.
She speaks to two core groups: story-first listeners who track lyrics and motifs across releases, and visual-first audiences from fashion and visual culture who engage with her consistent, chapter-style aesthetic system.
